The World Reimagined 2022 - Globe Commission 'Expanding Soul - Economic Biosphere'
The globe highlights plants connected to Transatlantic trade history and enslavement of African people. Each plant tells a unique story. Trauma, Resistance, Freedom of spirit, Indigenous knowledge, Trade, Economics and Colonialism. Plants featured are Sugar Cane, Cotton, Vanilla, Arrowroot, Cannabis, Pineapples, Peacock Flower, African Rice and Ferns. Time was spent in Residency in the UK doing research at Wysing Arts Centre Cambridgeshire and painting at Hospitafield, Arbroath, Scotland.
